February is National Time Management Month!

How do you spend your 24? We all have 24 hours every day. How we utilize those 24 hours is what makes one person more productive than another. There are many culprits that can inhibit our productivity at work and at home.  Procrastination is at the top of the list.

The intentional and habitual postponement of an important task that should be done now. Confession:  Yes, I do it too. I would like to focus on one helpful suggestion that I share with my clients and use myself: Harness your energy !

Identify what time of the day you are operating at your peak and take advantage of that energy. For me, it’s the early morning hours.   During this high-energy period, I recommend working on your most important and difficult tasks.  Your natural energy will pull you through the completion of those tasks.Oftentimes, people will put off difficult tasks (procrastinate) with the intention of doing it later. We all know how that story ends …

Doing the less important tasks/errands/meetings first will exhaust your energy leaving you at the end of the day with a list of items that did not get completed. Moving forward, consider scheduling your tasks with your energy level in mind.

When is your energy at its peak??  We want to hear from you!  Tweet @sandraorganized or find us on Facebook.

Wishing you a productive 2016!!
